i just received today a check of $200.00 (dollars) from a very dear friend. I added the money for our cause. A while back, she promised to support this venture, and she fulfilled her promise. I thank her so much for her love and generosity. i know this will help a lot of people.
sometimes i could hardly figure out how someone, who is hurting herself, who may need some money more than anyone else, could still think of sharing what she has for others. if this is not selfless love (or unconditional love) at its deepest level, what else? and yet, i also think of other people who have so much wealth in life, and yet they don't want to share anything with anybody. i just recall now the parable in the gospel about the "rich fool." A rich man had so much wealth; who built a big barn where he could store up his riches. and then he said to himself, " drink, eat and be merry." But the Lord said, "you fool, at this very hour..I will come and get you."
sometimes people cling to their wealth and riches as if it is their gods, the most important of everything. but what happens if we die? can we get our riches to heaven? the Lord said, "what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his soul in the process?
our life here on earth is just temporary. everything we have are not ours. we are just stewards of God's gifts. why not make good use of the gifts (even your money) that God has given you?

A friend of mine is supporting this cause
I just received an email today from a very dear friend. Notwithstanding what she and her husband have been going through today in their lives - both being diagnosed with cancer and currently undergoing treatment - my friend sent me this email, which has touched me deeply. I could not thank her enough for her generosity of heart and goodness. Just think that they are the ones who needed the most help - especially at this time because of their illness- and yet, from their goodness of heart, they are still willing and ready to share what they have for this cause.
Please read my friend's email:
"Sorry, it is only today that I really understand your challenge. Maybe because it is also only at this time that I have a relax mind and in spirit, It is only at this time I was relieved by the cross that I am carrying for the past months. I know it is God's will to let me read one more time your 1M challenge, and I always enjoy reading the articles with it.
I promise to support your noble intention. May I know your bank account # where I can send my donation? Sincerely, Judith"
Friend, thank you for your generosity and goodness of heart. Please know that I continue to pray for you and for your husband. God bless.

Thank you for the first donor!
I would like to thank L. Go for sending me an amount of $100.00 for this challenge which I posted on this blog.
I would like to post here what she wrote me in the email:
"I read your blog and honestly I was intrigued by your challenge. I am a single mom with two teenage sons. I am just able to support myself and my kids. But am sending you this $100 because I believe in your cause. I know this would not be an easy task. But if I can make a little contribution to make this dream come true, then I am willing to do it. just keep me in your prayers. good luck on your crusade!"

Adding Extra Challenge
I just thought about this today when I went to the Gym to do my regular exercise. I really don't know what you really think about the challenge that i posted here in this blog. Some may think it's just a prank or a game. Others may say that I am not serious about it. Well, let me tell you that I am dead serious about it.
For this, I am adding an extra challenge for me to do. I am calling this "A Mile Walk for Freedom." Let me explain the concept. For every $100 or more donation, I will walk for a mile for this cause. You see, you are not just helping me with this challenge to achieve my goal, but I am also helping myself considering that I am obligated to do a regular exercise to beat my illness.
This 'silent killer'sickness called Diabetes has already inflicted about 20 million or so Americans, according to the National Diabetes Association. It's time to find a cure and treatment for this debilitating disease. Your donation will help us continue fund a research for its cure and treatment.

W-E-L-C-O-M-E
Hi there! You may find the title of this blog intriguing. It's called "1M challenge." What is this "1 M challenge" anyway? Let me explain the meaning and concept behind the idea? The "1 M" concept has two significant meanings. First, it refers to myself. I am challenging myself to do something worthwhile, significant and extraordinary. They say that everything you want to do in life starts with a concept and a dream. People who have no dreams are usually the people who don't succeed. Some may even label such persons as "losers." For life to be meaningful and significant, you must have a dream, and a goal. But as to how you achieve that dream or goal is another process.
Let me state here the challenge I set for myself and the goal that I want to achieve. As an ordinary person, I want to challenge myself that I am capable of raising 1 million dollars, the second meaning of "1 M." If you are reading this, you may say that I am a bit over the edge, or too ambitious. It's alright. I don't mind it. But the point here is--i want to challenge myself and see if I am capable of raising one million dollars, the goal I set for myself. Whether this is achievable or not, or this is simply a utopia, is for everyone else to see. With your help and support, I know I am capable of achieving this goal. I know it needs hard work, and of course, I depend on your participation and generosity to make it happen.
Here is the process that I intend to do in order to generate 1 Million dollars.
First, I ask you to susbcribe to my site. And, for every subscriber, i beg you to donate at least "100 dollars" to my "donation box." Now, you may ask, "why should you donate $100 dollars or more of your hard earned money for this challenge?" I tell you why. First of all,you become officially a member of this important endeavor, a "1M challenge" achiever. The list of members and donors will be posted regularly on this site. The amount of money (with donors) will also be accounted and posted in this site. And once we have achieved our goal, your name will be written in the history books like anyone else who will particapte in this challenge. Secondly,i will see to it that 50 % of your donation will be given to charity, and 50% will be used as a seed money to start a foundation for the cure of diabetes. I want to say it clearly and loudly that I do not intend to appropriate any money for myself. You see, this is not all about money. It's also about helping the poor and the underpriviledged. If you haven't gotten a chance to share your gifts and treasures with people who are in dire need, then this would be your chance and opportunity to do so. And thirdly, once we have achieved our goal, I will present you a plaque of certificate and appreciation, and host a social dinner for you and for everyone who have particapted in this "1M Challenge." Wouldn't be nice if you are one of those who will make this happen? When everybody else says, 'it's impossible"..."this is a crazy idea"..."it's too much a gargantuan task"--and yet one day, God willing, we are able to make this happen? To dream and achieve the impossible is our goal. Let's make this happen together.
Once you have subscribed to my site and made your $100 dollar or more donation, i will make a written contract with you about this process, stating my obligations and responsibilites, as well as for the intent of your donation. There will also be an independent board outside myself who will oversee the implementation of the whole process.I want the process to be clean and transparent. No hidden costs or deals. This is not a scam or rip off of your money. I want to make this clear. This is just a challenge I set for myself. No one is obligated to play this challenge with me. But if you find this challenge interesting and worth investing your money, then maybe give yourself sometime to think about it and help me make achieve this dream.
I pray that with your participation and generous help, we can make this happen.
Let's start the ball rolling.
