i just received today a check of $200.00 (dollars) from a very dear friend. I added the money for our cause. A while back, she promised to support this venture, and she fulfilled her promise. I thank her so much for her love and generosity. i know this will help a lot of people.
sometimes i could hardly figure out how someone, who is hurting herself, who may need some money more than anyone else, could still think of sharing what she has for others. if this is not selfless love (or unconditional love) at its deepest level, what else? and yet, i also think of other people who have so much wealth in life, and yet they don't want to share anything with anybody. i just recall now the parable in the gospel about the "rich fool." A rich man had so much wealth; who built a big barn where he could store up his riches. and then he said to himself, " drink, eat and be merry." But the Lord said, "you fool, at this very hour..I will come and get you."
sometimes people cling to their wealth and riches as if it is their gods, the most important of everything. but what happens if we die? can we get our riches to heaven? the Lord said, "what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his soul in the process?
our life here on earth is just temporary. everything we have are not ours. we are just stewards of God's gifts. why not make good use of the gifts (even your money) that God has given you?
